Being Coy - Malu2 kucing

Contoh:

  • She's being coy.
    → Dia buat-buat malu / jual mahal.
  • Don't be coy. Just tell me the truth.
→ Jangan berpura-pura. Cakap sajalah perkara yang sebenar.
  • He gave a coy smile.

Contohnya:

Stop being coy. Did you get the job or not?
Jangan jual mahal / jangan berdolak-dalik.

  • jual mahal
  • buat-buat malu
  • berdolak-dalik
  • tidak terus terang

You are bang on

 Bang on bermaksud tepat sekali.

Bang on = you are right.

I have lost the plot

Kalau orang Aussie cakap "I've lost the plot", selalunya mereka maksudkan "I'm so confused", "I'm all over the place", atau "my brain isn't working properly right now." Biasanya nada dia santai atau bergurau.

Maksudnya:

Contoh:

  • I've lost the plot. What was I doing again?
→ Aku dah blur. Apa yang aku tengah buat tadi?
  • He's completely lost the plot.
→ Dia dah macam tak betul / dah merapu.
  • Sorry, I've lost the plot after working 12 hours.
→ Maaf, otak aku dah jem selepas kerja 12 jam.

Jiffy - soon

“We are gonna be there in a jiffy”.  maksudnya kitorang akan sampai sekejap lagi.

“In a jiffy” - maksudnya dlm masa yg sgt singkat.

Sama maksud dgn “We will be there soon.”

Stop Mucking Around

“Stop mucking around" means to stop wasting time, behaving in a silly way, or playing instead of focusing on an important task.

Contoh:

  • I'm not fussed about where we eat.
→ Saya tak kisah kita makan di mana.
  • I'm not fussed if it's raining.
→ Saya tak kisah pun kalau hujan.
  • I'm not fussed either way.
→ Saya okey sahaja, mana-mana pun boleh.
  • I'm not fussed about branded bags.
→ Saya tak begitu kisah tentang beg berjenama.

Jadi kalau terdengar org Aussie sebut  "I'm not fussed", mereka biasanya maksudkan "I'm easy", "I'm fine with whatever", atau "Tak ada hal bagi saya."

“I couldn't care less"  pula bermaksud:

"Saya langsung tak peduli."
"Saya memang tak kisah langsung."

Ia lebih kuat daripada "I'm not fussed."

Perbezaannya:

  • I'm not fussed. → Tak kisah, santai, neutral.
  • I couldn't care less. → Langsung tak peduli. Bunyinya lebih tegas dan kadang-kadang sinis.

Contoh:

  • I couldn't care less what people think.
→ Saya langsung tak peduli apa orang fikir.
  • He couldn't care less about football.
  • Honestly, I couldn't care less.
→ Sejujurnya, saya memang tak peduli langsung.

A Journey Within

Assalamualaikum

Sometimes, life feels too loud. Too fast. And the heart begins to crave something deeper, something lasting. It’s in those quiet moments we start to ask ourselves: What really matters? What am I holding on to that won’t hold on to me?

So here’s a gentle reminder, soft and personal. Maybe you need it too, like I did today.

πŸŒ™ 1. Simplify life

Let go of the things that weigh down our soul, the comparisons, the need to be seen, the distractions that don’t feed our heart.

When the world is quieter, it’s easier to hear what truly matters.

πŸ“– 2. Start small with acts of worship

Not everything has to be dramatic.
A few verses of Qur’an a day.
A simple dhikr between tasks.
A whispered dua no one hears but Him.
Little by little, that's how hearts grow.

πŸ•Œ 3. Bring more presence into salah

Even one prayer with full presence can become a turning point.
Let sujood be a moment of surrender, not just movement.
One honest “Ya Allah, help me” from the heart is worth more than a thousand empty words.

🀍 4. Do good in secret

Not everything kind needs to be known.
Forgive quietly.
Give when no one’s looking.
Do good simply because it feels right in your soul, not for applause, but for peace.

πŸ“Ώ 5. Whisper reminders to the heart

  • “This life is only a bridge.”

  • “What will this mean on the Day that truly matters?”

  • “Let me be guided by what lasts, not by what fades.”
