Asylms in uk and vacationing? You do not need a passport to travel within the UK (and that, of training course, contains Northern Ireland), however, many travel operators, airlines specifically but possibly ferries aswell, do need a passport for identification purposes. Hi, Shahab. You *do* need a passport to fly on a plane to Northern Ireland (this is for security of the aeroplane / airports, not because you're leaving England). If you go by ferry, you don't need a passport. Your Home Office ID will be enough. Have a good journey :-)
